About Us

Hope Connect Inc is a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation formed in 1974 and incorporated in 1987, to provide a variety of community welfare services to people in the communities of Telopea, Dundas, Ermington, Rydalmere and parts of North Parramatta and Carlingford.

Telopea Family Resources was commenced by Telopea Church of Christ as a response to the identified needs of families and children in the largely Department of Housing community in the vicinity of the church. Initially a Child Care Centre was established because of the lack of quality affordable are in the area. Other programs were added in time as needs and opportunities were identified, including a Family Day Care and a Family Support Service, which currently makes up most of the activity.

The Child Care Centre closed at the end of 1999 after approximately 25 years of operation. There had been falling numbers of children and the centre was in need of substantial upgrading to ensure it met requirements at the time.

Family Day Care was transferred to Eastwood Christian Community Aid as it become increasingly difficult to maintain its viability. Staff and children in care were transferred in April 2008.

Telopea Family Resources Inc was re-named Hope Connect Inc in 2014, it was felt that the name Hope Connect better reflected what the organisation was about, connecting people with hope.

Hope Connect Inc is an organisation governed by a volunteer Management Committee appointed annually and a ministry of Epping Church of Christ.  It receives funding for its projects from government, business and community bodies.

How we are Funded

Hope Connect Inc receives its core funding from the NSW Family and Community Services to run our family case management, counselling and some of our parent groups.

Our Material Aid program works in partnership with Wesley Mission.  Other donations are received from the local community.

The No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) is funded by State and Commonwealth government, Good Shepherd Microfinance and NAB.

We rely on private donations and one-off local council and non-government grants to finance our special projects, such as our  supported playgroup, groups for young people and school holiday activities.

Hope Connect is endorsed as Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) so all donations are tax deductible.
